at 59 seconds take a look at the mute this guy uses. I admire his health and determination, but his mute is something I've never seen. (perhaps I've lived a sheltered life)

The real question is; 'Was it new or used?'

Maybe we're all missing something here, and the doorstop is BETTER at muting strings than my old wedges and hammerfelt skivings, eh?

In his piano tuning/repair course, Aubrey Willis said that a modified ice pick works just fine for removing center pins.

Anyone who knew or knows Keith could never call him "this guy".

You could drop a piano he'd tuned from the roof and what was left of it would still be in tune.

I noticed the angle of his lever first. Someone was asking about that angle some time ago here.

He tunes on many sound stages, concert halls and studios and one of natures' gentlemen. good to know he's still going strong.

Can't get them small window wedges anymore, probably went out with the sash window. the big ones are everywhere.

You harden the hammerfelt wedges with some lacquer and they work better.

Does Abel make doorstops?

Marty in Minnesota

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.

Mister Albright must be celebrating his 90th birthday soon as this was filmed three years ago. So, Happy Birthday and Keep on Tuning and Riding!

The provenance of my doorstop is unclear, I believe it to be Renner but Abel makes one just as reliable.

(The felt skivings we use need some trimming but work admirably as doorstops in their raw state).

When that vertical piano rocks a bit, you have a handy door stop to slip between the wheel and the floor!

Strange topic....I've used rubber wedge mutes as door stops.
