When does the new Yamaha CLP-300 series come out in the USA? Is there a comparison list somewhere between the 200 and 300 series?

I dont know if this is true, but I heard the USA models are always slightly different than the euro models,.. anybody know?

The US models have the big soft drinks holder on the side and the bench is twice as wide?

Is it possible that the new CLP340 and CLP370 will come without string resonance? In the specs, this was only announced for the CLP380.

Trolls99, yes it looks like it.

Only the CLP-270 and CLP-280 had string resonance and now they dropped it for the CLP-370, like they dropped the IAFC also for it. So the CLP-370 is now more like a CLP-340 with wooden keys.

Pity and strange that they didn't give the CLP-340 and CLP-370 string resonance like the equivalent Roland HP203 and 204 have. (And the flagship HP207 also of course)

By the way, i'm very curious about the new "Pure CF Sampling". I wonder if this wil make the sound audibly better, together with the new 4 and 5 dynamic levels.

fighterf, if budget is a consideration, I'd be looking for "close out" pricing on the 280.

It would be nice to have an additional sampled layer, but not having would not be a deal breaker. (I play software pianos.)

The "direct connect" function would not be significant. Music can be downloaded from the 'Net in your usual way. Playing downloaded music thru the 380 would not be a premium listening experience. The largest speakers are Yammy's standard 16cm. Those speakers will not accurately reproduce a piano's lowest notes, so you'd want a set of studio-quality headphones, no matter which one you choose. 'Phones are also very handy for silent playing.

Does the CLP-300 series have the same GH3 or NW action as the CLP-200 series?

Can anyone give some details behind "5-level AWM Dynamic Stereo Sampling"? What's that all about?

The more samples per note (recorded at different sound levels) the richer and more natural the sound is.

If you have good speakers and a good hearing you will hear the difference between 1 (clp-220), 3 (clp-230 and 240) and 4 layer sampling (clp-270 and 280. More samples: Richer and more dynamic sound.

Actually things are changing here very fast too.
In my city since July 1 it is no longer possible to smoke tobacco in public places. You can however still legally buy an alternative in any of hundreds of coffeeshops and smoke it in public - just as long as there is no tobacco being mixed with it. However, as I am neither a smoker nor a Jazz musician I don't really care.

Is it the Paradiso that's next to the central police station? Was is '68. I remember it well - and fondly.

The Paradiso -- an old church converted into a pop temple -- is still going strong today. We get the most amazing artists playing there and the feeling is still intimate and cozy.

Glad to learn that the Paradiso has developed into a music center. Thought it might have evaporated, along with the Peace and Love spirit. Didn't know that '68 was its first year.

Amsterdam was my last pre-flight stop at the end of a four-and-one-half month self-financed Grand Tour. London to Istanbul - but no Scandinavia, unfortunately. Loved the Dutch people, didn't love the pickled herring.

Just strange that they do not mention the 'STRING RESONANCE'-samples that certain models have. Not to be confused with 'Stereo Sustain/Damper Resonance'.

For the grand CGP-1000 i don't know but i suppose so.

I think it's a pity and a missed chance that they didn't add it to the new CLP-340 and CLP-370.
ROLAND does in it's high AND midrange piano's like the HP-207, HP-204 and HP-203.
Also KAWAI in it's CA51, CA71 and CA91 range.

It's like the "cherry on the cake" ....
