This concerns only internal memory. The recorder is easy to use, and works fine. Since the the recording will be a MIDI file, I am aware that the music will not be played back as I play it, but I wonder if the result would be better if I decrease the tempo setting. I do not play at a set tempo when I improvise. Second question. I use the MP6 as a MIDI controller for a Triton LE. This works fine when I play with sounds from both boards, bot not when I use the recorder. No sound from the LE on playback. Is there a way to record the data and play back sounds on an external keyboard? cubop

cubop, increasing (not decreasing) the tempo of the recorder may improve the 'accuracy' of the MIDI file. However it's probably best to use the metronome while improvising to ensure that the recorder and performance tempos match.
Regarding your second query, I don't believe the MP6's song recorder will capture sent/received MIDI events. The best way to record both instruments is probably to use a computer, with separate MIDI connections for the MP6 and Triton...however, I expect other folks will provide suggestions shortly.
Kind regards, James x

Thanks Kawai James. I think you are right about increasing the tempo for precision. But the problem should be solved when I get around to getting a USB stick, and record to MP3. I am sure you are right on the second question too. Easiest solution will be to take a synth sound on the MP6, and tweak it to somehow match that terrific sound I have on the LE, and layer it with the Concert Grand. It is surprising what you can do on the MP to improve the sounds. cubop

Increasing the tempo helps. But recording a layer dont work. The recorder will only record zone one. Probably wont work with USB either. The best solution should be a mic and some recording device. Or recording to PC with USB connection. cubop

Yes, I believe the MP6's song (MIDI) recorder will only capture the notes of the first zone, however, the audio (MP3/WAV) recorder will capture whatever sound is played.
Cheers, James x
