I am very excited that I will soon be able to play my newly purchased HPi-7! I bought it brand new for $2100 shipped!

I now live in a tiny New York apartment, but am moving to another apartment where I can actually set it up. I did test it out at Steinway Hall (before purchase) and also briefly when I took the keyboard out of the box. It plays very well. Are there any other HPi-7 owners on this board? I'd like to share my experiences once I begin playing.

Do you think that the PHA on this keyboard drastically different than the PHA II w/ ivory feel? I did test out the HP-207 briefly and couldn't tell much of a difference. What's so good about PHA-II anyways?

Thank you all for your great advice. I have been combing through this board before making a purchase decision and will contribute as soon as I can!

The PHA-II (in the HP-207) is a slightly heavier action than in PHA pianos I've tried. Other than that, there are a few subtle differences in the touch that may or may not make a difference to people. PHA is definitely good, and it sounds like you love it, which is what matters! And there are many features on your HPi-7 that the HP-207 lacks.

Congratulations on your new purchase (that's a good price, BTW)!

Hi Sreeni,

I lucked out. I searched craigslist, across all craigslist sites for the HPi-7, and found someone in Oregon who was selling one, brand new.

Apparently, the kind gentleman had won the piano on a game show, paid the taxes for it, but he or his family never got around to using it. I'm sure he was surprised that I contacted him, but after that I sent him paypal funds and he shipped the piano coast to coast.

I'm really happy and just moved into a new apartment, so I will be assembling it to enjoy. Let me know if you have any questions once I begin playing.

-Adam
