Hi, on a Yamaha YPT-320 (or similar) keyboard does anyone know how to have the keyboard record a few bars of you playing, then play it back repeatedly without a metronome sound being automatically added before the start of each repetition?

I am able to record and repeat, but unable to have the keyboard simply repeat the played music without the keyboard automatically inserting a few bars of metronome sound between each repetition.

I know this repeating or looping as the kids call it nowdays is possible with an external sequencer, external keyboard, or software on a laptop, but I specifically want a free standing battery-operated keyboard that has it's own speakers without any wires, laptops, external sequencers, or any other equipment, for cost and convenience reasons.

I even went to the music store today and tried all the models of Yamaha and Casio keyboards in the $200 - $300 range and they all unfortunately for me have the same behavior they all insert a metronome sound between the repeated measures! Very strange. The sales person was as mystified as I was and didn't know how to turn that metronome sound off.

If anyone know if I am doing something wrong, or even if anyone knows if I am not doing anything wrong, and I simply need to fork over $500 for another unwanted peice of equipment (sequencer) simply to do simple looping, please reply to this post.

Rather then spend $300 on a keyboard and $500 on a sequencer, better I think to spend $800 on a keyboard that has the has better features like say Roland's Juno

The other idea is don't loop. Make a long 15 minute backing track that just repeats the same notes over and over.

A sequencer isn't $500 if you have a computer. They start at free, (plus the cost of a MIDI interface if you don't have one already)
