My daughter has a Roland FP-7F portable digital piano that we bought several years ago. Today while she was playing I noticed that the sustain pedal is really squeaky (the piano is in her bedroom and I don't usually sit in her room and listen like I did today.) It was driving me crazy, though my daughter seems to be used to it. She says it has always squeaked when pressed, but I think it must have gotten worse.

The pedal is a separate accessory for this model (not part of the piano since it isn't a console piano, in other words.)
I googled and found a You-Tube video where someone fixed a squeaky Yamaha digital pedal that looks a lot like her Roland one (at least on the outside!) They opened up the bottom and put some WD40 next to a medal part that moves up and down when the pedal is pressed. Does this sound like a good idea? I checked Roland's website and the instruction manual but couldn't find anything about this issue. I googled this site as well, but couldn't find anything pertaining to this kind of pedal.
Thanks in advance for any helpful advice you can provide.
Thanks for any help you can give.

By the way, in case anyone is interested, here is a link to the You Tube video I mentioned: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KijSKo7-NR0

I'd probably use just a bit of silicone spray, rather than WD-40. But either one should be OK.

I think I have the same pedal, and the same squeak. The metal pedal on mine rubs against the inside of the pedal opening on one side due to some looseness in the pivot. Silicone spray and WD-40 solve the problem, but only temporarily. Putting some slippery tape around the plastic edge where the pedal rubs seems to last longer. Good luck
