Final decision: Yamaha B3 or W. Steinberg AC 23? - 11/14/12 03:59 AM
Hello everyone,
I want to make my decision this week, and I have two uprights in my mind: the Yamaha B3 and the Wilh. Steinberg AC 23. I played both, and I find the W. Steinberg's touch and action a little closer to my preference due to the heavier touch.
The sound of Yamaha was pleasantly mellow, however, it lacked a little "body" in the sound. I could not yet test the sound of W. Steinberg's, because it was not tuned when I played, and sounded terrible. Dealer promised it will be tuned by Friday, so I will be able to test it.
Some people on this forum replied that W. Steinbergs are very loud uprights. I have not noticed it yet, however, it will only turn out in my 20m2 living room when finally placed.
Oh, and I have a very good deal for W. Steinberg, it would be cheaper than the Yamaha B3, however its list price is definitely higher.
Any comments, cons, pros to each instrument are welcome!
Many thanks,
Peter
