SAVE THE MUSIC!
Maine residents, we need your help.

We are the Saco River Festival Association, an all volunteer non-profit. We help to purchase instruments for local school music programs, send students to music camps, and sponsor several events that bring the community together, including free concerts throughout the summer. We are the group that sponsors the Cornish Bandstand Summer Series, we also bring in the Portland Community Chorus to perform at the school, and sponsor other music and art related events. (Kathy and I are both volunteers with this wonderful group)

Your vote will help the SRFA win a $5000 grant that would go a long way toward helping us continue our community programs.

PLEASE vote for the Saco River Festival Association (UNDER YORK COUNTY). You may vote for 3 groups but only one from York County so please vote for us. We really need your help! You can vote online or at the bank. Maine Residents Only
(If you are not a Maine resident but would still like to help, please see this page http://www.sacoriverfestival.org/support_the_arts.htm)

You can vote for up to 3 communities, but only ONCE for each one, so please vote for us under York County!

The Saco River Festival Association was founded by pianist Frank Glazer (http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2373024.html )and his wife Ruth in 1976 to promote the arts and youth music programs in the Sacopee Valley Area.

Frank passed away this winter at the age of 99 and we strive to honor both his memory and the SRFA mission.

Like most non-profit arts organizations, we struggle to finance our programs.
We are thrilled to be nominated for Bangor Saving's Bank annual Community Matters More and hope that people will take the time to stop in at the bank or go online to vote for us.

We help to purchase instruments for school band programs, send students to music camps, and sponsor several events that bring the community together. We have an annual "Welcome in the Holidays" concert featuring the Portland Community Chorus at the Sacopee Valley Middle School, we try to present a classical concert each year, and each summer we sponsor the Cornish Summer Bandstand Series.

This is a free music series with a wide variety of music including bluegrass, jazz, and big bands. It is held for 5 or 6 consecutive Tuesdays from 7pm - 8:30 pm. This year they run from June 30 to Aug. 4th and the concerts are held at the Cornish Bandstand on Rt. 25 in Cornish.

If we win the Community Matters More contest, we would use the proceeds to help pay for the music and art programs that benefit our entire community.
