To all pianists, piano lovers and friends of classical music!

We are very happy to invite you to the 2nd International Piano Amateur Competition Berlin that will take place in the famous Berlin Philharmonic from 22nd to 27th September 2008.

The competition, supported by Sir Simon Rattle and the Berlin Philharmonic, is open to all amateur pianists who have reached the minimum age of 35. We look forward to receiving applications by 25th February 2008, upon which the 60 best candidates will be selected for participation in the competition by a professional jury.

A broad programme of activities will accompany the competition:

– Public piano marathon
– General rehearsal
– Master classes with members of the International Jury
– Chamber music & piano duets
– Cultural events (e.g. concert of the Berlin Philharmonic) & sightseeing

The programme of activities is also open for dedicated amateur pianists who cannot or do not wish to participate in the competition itself. The minimum age is 18.
