Licensing & Publishing Piano Music - 03/12/13 01:19 AM

Hi Folks

Im often told that my music is cinematic, or works well with the moving image, so Ive been looking into the possibility of licensing my music for Film and TV.

Does anyone know of any music publishers or licensers who specialise in piano music?

or have any general recommendations of quality publishers?

My music is contemporary but classically influenced, think a mix of Glass/Einaudi/Debussy

thanks

Rich...

It's not as simple as it seems... If you've got no experience in the field, your best (and probably only) bet would be to check out the various music libraries. Music libraries license your music to whoever is interested really, not just films, but in any case it's fine I think...

Just be careful to retain 100% of the writers share, because many libraries tend to be crooky to that part.

Best of luck!

Hi Nikolas

many thanks for your message. Yes, Ive already had an offer which Im consideing from a what looks like a quality music library and I may well sign with them for some of my shorter cues and ideas.

However, I'd still like to look into finding a quality publisher for my longer length and best quality work, so if anyone has any suggestions, Id be very glad to hear them.

cheers

Rich
