The best of Debussy - 07/30/01 06:16 PM

Claire de lune, Golliwog's Cake-Walk, La Cathedrale Engloutie, Arabesque Mov. 1. Just to name a few, but I would like to know what the favritoes of others are because I know that there are many Debussy pieces that I've never heard/played before and I would just like some opinoins on what are great works of Debussy.

I too like all the pieces that you have mentioned but I would like to add a few.I am saying the names in english because I can't say or spell them in French!

Probably not the greatest Debussy, but a couple of pieces I have really enjoyed playing are 'La Serenade Interrompue' (Preludes Bk1 no 9) and 'The Snow is Dancing' from Children's Corner.

I also like the Etudes, but they sound extremely difficult.
