The new search function is a big improvement. To make it even more useful, some forums I visit have a "search this thread" pulldown any time a thread is being viewed. This would be particularly useful for threads that have dozens of pages. It also has the spin-off benefit of reducing the load on the server by only searching a single thread rather than the forum as a whole or an entire sub-forum.
