3 short newbie recordings - Any feedback appreciated! - 08/24/12 11:59 AM

Hi!

I started learning at the start of this year... here are some of the non-traditional pieces I've been trying to learn on the side of the ABRSM curriculum smile

Any comments/feedback would be really appreciated.

River Flows In You (an attempted performance but ended up rushing loads somehow. lol): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE0ezhQmicQ

He's A Pirate (only practicing first section here): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3L5BJDf3HxM

Comptine D'Un Autre Été (again rushed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiwQGywhqx4

You are doing great for just starting this year. Have you played other instruments?
I know you didn't ask but the piano needs tuning badly.

No... like I started playing piano when I was really young and then gave it up quickly. frown But this year I told myself I was going to steam ahead with it... getting there slowly!

Oh really? I'm glad you've told me. My sense of pitch isn't good and I know the piano sounds bad but I wasn't sure if it's because a crappy bright B1 in a hard room or because it's out of tune. Now that you've said that I suppose it's a mix of the two.

I was planning on getting a U3 in February 13, is it worth tuning it until then?
