Thanks, Kam! I am still eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 4 Yiruma CDs I ordered, and I still play the "River flows in you" mp3 several times daily.

p.s. Did you try hitting the little URL box after you click on the "full reply form"? That allows you to post a clickable link to another web site.

The trouble is that PW doesn't allow URLs with parentheses inside of them.

(my guess is so that some joker doesn't post some code as a url, like "javascript:for(x=1;x>0;x++)alert('haha ha');" which would just continually pop up alert windows that say "haha ha" forever, without letting you do anything else on your computer, until you can somehow force quit your internet browser or restart the computer)

Re: For those who like Yiruma, or new age music - 03/02/06 10:40 AM

Kam,

I don't have the sheet music to "River flows in you" (yet!). All I've ordered so far are four of his recorded CDs.

On a thread in the pianist corner, ShiroKuro posted the ISBN number of a Yiruma sheet music book that contains "River." Here it is: ISBN 89-88601-38-6. I don't have a title or publisher because it's in Korean. I've made a couple of efforts to find it on the web (no luck so far) and to get my local bookstore to order it (ditto; they don't do imports). But I am determined and will find it one way or the other! I have a Korean colleague, so my latest plan is to sweet-talk or bribe her into navigating the Korean language web sites for me and helping me order it. I'll let you know if I am successful. ShiroKuro said it took her something like 3 months to get it, so I'm telling myself to be patient.

Sam: [smacks hand on forehead] Of course! I should have realized Kam already knew how to use the URL thingy. Here I was feeling tickled pink that there was a computer question I could actually answer... But your point makes a lot of sense and I am glad that feature exists!

Re: For those who like Yiruma, or new age music - 03/02/06 07:12 PM

Monica and KAM, actually the book has English on the front cover. In addition to a lot of Korean writing, it says "Yiruma Piano Album." In the back of the book is this website:

http://www.stompmusic.com/

This site is 99% in Korean, but you can see the name Yiruma there, so if someone reads Korean, this might be a place to search.

Ok, here's a site that's all in Japanese, but you can see a thumbnail of the book cover, and if you scroll down you can see the list of pieces that are in this book.

http://shop.innolife.net/shop/list.php?a...528433b73901d6#

That was all I could find. It looks like Amazon doesn't have a Korean site (they have an Japan one)

Oh, here's an idea, if there's an Asian market that sells imported foods, you might go there and see if they sell non-food items. If they do, perhaps they could order this book for you? Another idea is to keep looking for a bookstore that will do imports, maybe one of the big chains? Or a college bookstore? Or a huge sheet music store?

I couldn't find the page where I originally found this book, which is too bad because that page had a larger image of the cover. But once I found the ISBN number, Kinokuniya bookstore (which has US outlets) said they would order it for me but it would take a while. And then I just waited.

Now I'm trying to settle on fingerings for the piece! \:\) Good luck, I'm sure you'll be able to get a copy!

Re: For those who like Yiruma, or new age music - 03/02/06 10:31 PM

Thanks, ShiroKuro! I think with that website you found for us and my Korean colleague, I should be able to order the book from there. Kam and kawaigirl1, if you'd like, I can just order 3 copies and y'all can buy them from me...let me know. I probably won't get around to ordering it for a week or two depending on when I can convince my hard-working colleague to goof off on the web with me during work hours... ;\)

And if you did (please say YES \:\) ) could you buy it online or did you get a local shop to import it for you ?

http://www.upiece.co.kr/piece/list_com.a...ing=river+flows

this gives you the first page of the piece when you click on the magnifying glass... i reckon you could buy it off here to if you could read korean!! (click on the basket - i just get a message to say ok and thats it)

Re: For those who like Yiruma, or new age music - 08/03/06 06:40 AM

Thanks stephenc,

But my Korean is even worse as my English, so ... \:\)

FYI : I got the same OK dialog box. I have no clue what to do afterworths.

I also would like to have the complete book as there are other songs of him I really like.

I hope Monica and Kawaigirl have their copy sitting on the piano.

Wow great!!

Thanks, Born2die, you made my day.

I'd still like to have the original song book, but this certainly is a nice backup!

I know exactly where to buy his sheetmusic books. smile
www.hanbooks.com
It's all korean stuff, based in the US i think. It's all completely safe i've ordered the sheet music myself from there.
Only thing i can say wasn't too good was that the condition the book came in was a little bit dissapointing. One of the corners was bent but i'd say it's still worth it and it might have been just a one off.

Hmm... were those download links sheet music?

Re: For those who like Yiruma, or new age music - 08/25/09 01:52 PM

I think so, AWTPP. Or, at least there were three volumes entitled Piano Scores vol. 1 through 3, and the description of one of them had a sample page of sheet music.

Thanks so much for posting this link, Grant, and welcome to the forum!!

I just love "River Flows in You." A couple of years ago I searched far and wide for a legal source of sheet music for it but failed, so I downloaded (I will confess) an unofficial transcription off the web, all the while crossing-my-heart-and-hoping-to-die that I would purchase it if a legal copy ever came up in the U.S. I just ordered the Piano Vol. 1, thanks to you, so now my conscience can lie at rest. smile

I am a big Yiruma fan too, and love to listen. I am actually shocked that I haven't heard any Yiruma played in piano bars or recitals here. whome There's a bunch of Yiruma covers on YouTube.
