Hi everyone,

Yes, I am an adult beginner 27 years removed from childhood lessons, and have now played for a little over a year. I'm very much into YouTube and watching other amateur pianists, so I figured, since I'm too old for recitals, YouTube is a good medium to actually display my accomplishments.

Nice Bethena, cebukid70. I think I'll have it ready by the Feb recital (and the ABF recital isn't one you're too old for - it goes live on Nov 15 so check it out). There's piano bars here, too - and goodness knows there's no way to be too old for those

Cathy, thanks for the compliment. Please do tell about these Piano Bars. I live in the Chicago area. I would like to improve as a performer and wouldn't mind giving a live recital. As you saw, I was extremely nervous playing for YouTube.

Bethena is truly a masterpiece, and I love all 5 strains of this piece. I love it, and proud to have this under my belt. :-)

The November piano bar thread is just a couple of threads down from this one at the minute. It's just an informal way of sharing whatever you're working on. Someone justs starts a new thread at the beginning - or a couple of days earlier - of every month and labels it as the month's piano bar.

Wow, cebukid70, most piano beginners aren't tackling Bethena as their third piece! I didn't detect any nervousness at all on your video. You did a great job of maintaining a nice steady tempo.
