jazz piano book for beginners - 01/25/05 03:39 AM

Can someone recommend a jazz piano book for beginners? I mean not for the very beginner, I can read (but not sight-read) music, and know a bit about scales, harmony and so on. The best would be a book with an accompanying CD, so that I can hear how it has to be played.

Hi Olec,

I'd suggest Charles Beale's "Jazz Piano from Scratch" book published by ABRSM. I've only started out with it but it's challanging me to solo fairly early on. We'll see how things progress over the coming year.

I bought mine from www.musicroom.com but maybe it's available elsewhere.
