I would dearly love to see Joplin's opera performed by a professional company. Does that ever happen?

I've seen it on video, you can probably get it on amazon.

The memphis opera performed it last season but unfortunately there were only two performances in January 2009.

Just keep looking on google and maybe you will find a performance.

I saw it two or three years ago in Stern Grove here in San Francisco. The production used period-correct instruments, includng a tuba.

The final aria is something like, Wrong Is Never Right. Too much of a truism.

In an age where the ends justify the means I am not sure how obvious the truth of that is.
