Age of Lester Piano - 03/13/08 02:48 PM

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum, so bear with me. I'm trying to determine the age of my grandmother's Lester piano. I can hardly find ANY numbers on the piano, much less a serial number. There are two seals on the interior board. One says "Gold Medal Lester" and the other says "1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific-Seattle Exposition". The seals are on either side of the Lester Piano Company name. The piano measures 6'. One of the foot peddle "legs" has the number "372". It is a beautiful mahogany color and looks similar to a piano I saw on the internet that was dated between 1915 and 1922. Can anyone help me with the age? Thanks!

The 372 is a lot number stamped on the case parts to keep them together. The serial number is five digits. On Lester pianos is should be stamped on the plate in black paint. Remove the music desk and look around the tuning pin area.
