Ideas for selling 1920s Ampico grand - 10/24/04 10:25 PM
My mother is needing to sell a Haines Bros. 1920's Ampico baby grand. It was shipped from New York when it was new and has been in the family since that time. My father, a superb, mechanically -minded person who took piano restoration courses, restored the player mechanism (excellently) about 30 years ago. The player works quite well and the action on the piano works fine when the player mechanism is engaged. However, when a "live" pianist tries to play the instrument, there are problems with the action (sticking keys, etc.) So, a collector, technician, or someone of that nature would want to be the buyer. Does anyone out there have some ideas on how I can help my mom sell this instrument?
