Recording a stage piano: "What's the best setup?" - 02/06/13 06:13 AM
Oke guys,
While I'm still wondering which stage piano I'm gonna buy
(currently thinking of the Nord piano 2 HA88), I'm also thinking about how I'm going to record the sound. I have bought EWQL piano's so I have some sort of alternative for sound recording but I'm also interested in recording the sound from my stage piano. Soo...
Let's say I got a ASUS notebook (core i5, 16GB RAM, not a really good audio card) and a random "high end" stage piano. I was thinking about buying a Focusrite Scarlett 2i4 (http://www.thomann.de/nl/focusrite_scarlett_2i4.htm)and connecting my stage piano to the interface with two 1/4' mono-jack to XLR male cables. Is this a good idea? Do you guys have any other suggestions for a below 300 euro budget?
