One of my keys makes a distinct "tick" sound I would say when the hammer hits whatever it hits. Would this likely be that the felt has come off or partially off the hammer? Very distracting but I hate to take the whole thing into the shop just for something as minor as this. Maybe I could fix it?

If you have warranty, deliver it to a shop. If not, it's _generally_ harmless to open up a keyboard and take a look. There's very few things you can break (if you're being careful).
