Some of you might remember my questions I posted here regarding grand pianos. Thanks to your help and a chain of extraordinary contacts through the forum here, our family has an awesome Estonia 6'3" grand piano in our music room as of New Year's Eve! This piano is the fulfillment of a lifetime dream and how it actually has come to grace our home is nothing short of a miracle.
We have been looking for a grand for a few years. Our Mason and Hamlin upright has seved us well but we need the versatility, challenge and inspiration that a only a grand can supply. Our search for a grand took several turns with peaks of excitement thinking we had found it and discouragement when the piano being considered just didn't fill our requirements.
An excellent piano technician from Calgary, Bob Moffat, was helping and advising us. His expertise saved us from making some dreadful mistakes in choosing a piano. The selection of quality instruments available in our price range was really poor.
We didn't know that the Piano Forum and the Estonia Piano internet site would introduce us to the piano of our dreams. If any of you have followed the saga of Dr. Jay Daniels in selecting his piano you will find the following connections amazing. Dr. Daniels spent considerable time and effort in selecting his Estonia. His extensive research made it more credible for us to consider Estonia. At the same time that my daughter connected with Norbert Marten about Estonia pianos, the technician we were working with, Bob Moffat, was selected to service Jay's new Estonia. Bob invited me to accompany him to see Dr. Daniel's piano. What a thrill to see and play the Estonia 6'3" in Dr. Daniel's home! The craftsmanship of these pianos is phenomenal. To play it and hear the rich tones of the lower strings and the bell-like resonance of the upper strings was most impressive even to a novice! This piano was straight from Estonia - right out of the crate and yet it was basically in tune and played awesomely. Incredible, you say. It was!
After this first hand experience and with the expert advice of Mr. Moffat who was also impressed with the quality of Estonia, we decided to order one for our own home. This was both exciting and somewhat scary since we had some amount of wonder whether our piano would match the beauty of the one we had seen. Norbert assured us of the quality and care our piano would receive all along the way. He got on to our order quickly and everything fell into place beautifully, guided by his experienced hand. Norbert tried to get our piano to us by Christmas but with holiday slowdowns it couldn't be accomplished. He was so gracious about it and sent us a beautiful CD of Dr. Laul playing an Estonia Concert Grand as a gift. Norbert worked hard to get all the shipping details in order for the safe transport of our piano. The route was adjusted to try to get it here the safest and fastest way possible all at Norbert's inconvenience and expense. He was patient with our apprehension and assured us that our piano was being treated properly and would reward us with the beauty and quality promised. Norbert's attention to detail and personalized service were, I believe, unequalled in the piano sales world.
Two days after delivery, Norbert flew in from Vancouver to attend to business here and came to our home. It was a great pleasure to meet him, to hear him play and to see him in action! Norbert's personalized attention to detail in our piano sale, delivery, and service has been appreciated. He works with honesty and integrity which has been a refreshing experience.
We are absolutely blessed to have a beautiful Estonia in our home. Thanks to Norbert, Bob and Dr. Jay who made this all possible!

Smiles....It was a tad nerve racking at times, but I found something very wonderful during our search.....the Estonia line of pianos. Absolutely the best attention to every facet of piano building I have encountered in 30 years of piano work. Thank you for your very kind words.
God Bless,
Bob
