Hello All,

After buying a brand new Schimmel T130 upright piano in July, 2005, after extensive shopping and finding a fabulous piano with a stunning bass, in February, 2006 my apartment building suffered a major fire and my new piano received 3/4 hours of firetruck water poured onto and into it which stopped the fire but badly damaged the piano: warping the wood, ruining the strings and damaging the bridge. My piano tech is leaning toward totalling the piano for insurance which I fortunately had. Does anyone know the current new cost of the Schimmel T130? (PS: don't evey ask if I was heartbroken!). Thanks!

Sorry about your misfortune, I look at shimmel 51" 130 piano three year ago, and it very nice and they offer me for about 13,000. but I did'nt neogtioate very much yet.

I end up with a seiler smaller one but i like it just a little better, I am in bay area too. I get my seiler in san jose, and they have 52' seiler too you can try, I think they have shimmel too.

Fine's 2005-2006 supplement says $17,580 for polished ebony and $19,180 for polished mahogany/walnut.

Damage from both fire and water may not show up for a long time after the incident. I strongly vote for totalling it. What a shame; but that's what insurance is for.

Thanks for the info! Would anyone be willing to take a look at some pictures of the bridge and lend me some advice? Thx.

Very sorry to hear about this.

I've not run across many water-damaged pianos, but the few I have were truly awful to play. I'm with Cy on this...

I sent you a PM regarding the pricing [don't want to get myself or my dealer in trouble].
