Is the Petrof Rosler upright an Asian Petrof, or the real deal? How close is it to a regular Petrof?

http://www.petrof.com/upright-pianos-rosler-upright-pianos.html "Rösler upright pianos are designed by the R and D center of PETROF company. They are produced according to the technical documentation of the Department of Construction and Technology of PETROF company and the production is supervised by workers of PETROF company." You can presume that it's made somewhere else than Czechia, most probably China. I'm quite sure that it is nowhere near the level of refinement as the regular Petrof brand, and at best would be equivalent of Steinway's Essex.

To quote from another official Petrof document: "Since 2006 Petrof produces in China[/b] its lower class uprights sized 118, 126 under the brand name Rösler for European market and since 2007 under the brand name Scholze for Chinese market. Uprights of both the brands are identical, designed by Petrof, produced under the control of Petrof technicians. Their origin is quite Chinese." schwammerl.

But there are Röslers made in Europe too - older ones. I have played one - about 110 cm only. Very nice action for such a small piano.

Thank you all for your responses. It sounds like at least the newer Petrof Rosler pianos are Made in China, so I need to determine if this particular piano, (serial # 133232) is Czech or Chinese. The piano apparently sat unused for a number of years, so I am hoping it is a Czech version, but I need to make that determination very soon, the clock is running on this opportunity, and I do not want to buy a Chinese product (philosophical, not based on quality). If anyone could help shed light on this, and help resolve the country of origin question, I would be most appreciative.

GIC brought in a small number of Czech made Rosslers in the late 90's. One model,42" tall Euro style,(no leg). They had a "Photo" finish.Decent piano inside. Not a Petrof. I would think GIC could tell you if you call them with the serial number. They are in Wheeling IL. If it's not one of those,it's Chinese.

I should have mentioned that it does say "Petrof" somewhere(?) on the piano, (I'm going to Jersey this weekend to check it out), and the Seller said it was "48" tall, so I'm hoping this rules out the "pre-Petrof" option?

I saw the picture. It is the one made in Czech. And my memory is a little faulty, it is a taller piano then 42" As I said, not many were brought in. Good luck with it.
