Beethoven Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 61

I originally bought the CD for the famous Mendelssohn concerto, but I have found the Beethoven Concerto to be my favorite. Great CD!

I'm more into rock/pop music. I listen to Elton John (duh! ;\) ), Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles. I listen to the radio a lot - classic rock and modern rock. (Good Charlotte, Red Hot Chili Peppers) I also like music by Angelo Badalamenti. He composes soundtracks. He works with director David Lynch. (David is also in an industrial rock group called Blue Bob) Here at work, I tend to listen to the radio on my boombox. I'm also one of those who channel surf. \:\)

Should I let everyone know how uncultured I am? What the hell... My current favorites in no particular order:

1) Beautiful - Christina Aguiliera
2) Picture - Kid Rock & Sheryl Crowe
3) Sing for the Moment - Eminem
4) Your Body is a Wonderland - John Mayer
5) Three Wooden Crosses - Randy Travis
6) Peacemaker - Fleetwood Mac

I'm so embarrassed... \:o

mrenaud, have you heard his cello concerto and piano concerto? I think they are extremely interesting, the rhythm and textures he achieves is unbelievable!

His melodien and chamber concerto are also not to be missed, they explore a wide range of possibilities. Mysteries of the Macabre, well, even the title is interesting!

I have also heard the cello and piano concerto, all three of them are on the same disc. I haven't heard the others yet, must try to find them.

I've heard he recently wrote a horn concerto, but that has AFAIK not been recorded yet.

At home: Sean Duggan's excellent recording of the Goldberg Variations

In the car: Bronfman's Prokofiev concerti and some Miles Davis.

Gryphon has way to much time on his hands, lay off the photo shop buddy....

Eminem has mad talent but he is twisted, still, so was picasso. And well I got to agree Chris Rock is really brutal.

Eminem is quite the genius. I knew all the words to his last big song. I loved it until my Catholic friends teased me about jamming to Eminem in the car. I had no idea who was poeting it.
