I noticed this piece was mentioned as a good encore piece, or something of that nature. I think it's by Gould. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can see this piece on the internet to see the difficulty level, as I would be interested in learning it, or could anyone tell me how difficult it is? I am at Grade 8 level in Australia, not sure how that relates internationally and have small hands (9th maximum) Any answers greatly appreciated. \:\)

Tammy,

I'm now intrigued by this piece. I found several recordings available, but the sheet music does not *appear* to be in print. Hal Leonard publishes two volumes of Morton Gould "At the Piano," but Boogie Woogie Etude is not in the first volume. It's possible that it could be in the second volume, but Hal Leonard didn't have a copy in stock that they could check. A piece by the same composer with a similar title WAS published by Warner Brothers ("Boogie the Woogie"), but that title has gone out of print. They don't have any listing for the one you're looking for.

The closest match I found was a version available "for hire" (note: not "for sale") from Chester/Novello for piano and orchestra. For additional info check out:

FWIW,
April

If it's the song by Gould, it's published by Warner Bros:

PA02519 BOOGIE THE WOOGIE - GOULD $3.95

Check around at sheet music sites, even at the unethical musicroom.com (might save you a few AUD as shipping from the U.S. is expensive).

BTW - April might be right, the individual sheet may now be out of print. It's Friday, so as usual, the Warner Bros. dealer web site is on the fritz with the usual java errors (they'll kick it Monday morning, and it will be up again. . .).
Even if not currently in print, it was up until a short while ago, so check around.
