Next month, I'll be in New York from the 15th through the 23rd for a competition. I hadn't originally planned to stay that long, but those are the dates that they told me to block out.

There are a few people that I'd love to see again from previous trips/meetings (Bernard, Phlebas, Jon) as well as anyone else who'd like to meet up. I'm busy for the first two days when I arrive, and the finals are on the 22nd if I pass the semis (ha!). Maybe we can arrange something for over the weekend?

Also, does anyone know of reasonably-priced/reputable sublets or hostels? Thanks!

I'd like to meet you and hear you play live, but if I remember correctly you said that only the finals were open to the public and that there was a charge. Is that still the case?

Perhaps people who would like to meet you could meet somewhere on Piano Row. Faust Harrison had concert sized(9+ foot) Bluthner, Steingraeber, Steinway and Boesendorfer when I was there last week. There are also some nice concert sized Bechsteins, Faziolis, and Hamburg Steinways at Klavierhaus and Bechstein NY.

Sadly, yes. I believe that admission is somewhere in the $10 range, but it's contingent on me passing on!

That sounds good. I believe that we went to one of those salons last time. In any case, I'll have stuff in my fingers to play and hope that others will too.

Hey great. What is the competition?
I'd love to meet up. We moved to Westchester county this summer, btw.

I'd like to meet, but October is a hugely busy month for me. Maybe the 17th would work. Let's stay in touch.

Don't forget to come by and see us at AC Pianocraft at our new location in Long Island City Queens. We have two Steinway Ds in the showroom and two Bs. We are the first stop in Queens on the R train (Queens Plaza). Plus, we'll give you a factory tour which is on the same premises! Give us a call to set it up.

A bunch of contemporary music.

That could work for me. I might be meeting some people later on, but otherwise I'm open.

Well, I don't know you, but I have met some of the others, I like contemporary music very much and live in NYC.

It could be interesting to meet up, if it were at the end of the range of dates you mentioned. I am around the 22nd and 23rd. Would be fun to watch the finals of a piano competition, better than the Olympics! I used to do those myself, centuries ago.

Bump because I'm leaving tomorrow morning.

Since we have no definite plans as of now, I'll talk with pianoloverus (who is graciously letting me stay at his place for the first few days) and see if we can get something arrange when I arrive.

It has to do with the number of posts, not your age which, unfortunately (or, perhaps, fortunately), the system does not know.
