Hi Folks- I am a beginner and setting out to buy my first piano. Most likely it will be my last, because I don't expect to ever play at Carnegie hall.
I found a new Ridgewood console piano for about 2300 dollars. Is this a good piano? I appreciate any info anyone can give me.
I also found a used Samick that is 20 years old in cherry condition with a nice sound for about 2800. I'm trying to decide between them.
Greetings Lolly, and welcome to the forum.
You don't say where you are, or describe the size and style, but the price on the Samik sounds high to me if it is a console piano. If you decide to buy it, I would caution you to have a technician look it over prior to purchase.
If the Ridgewood is what I think it is, I would not put it in the class of "good" pianos. The price seems about right if it is new, but I believe there are better choices on the used market.
Perhaps if you expand on what you exopect from a piano and the region in which you live, some of the Forum members will offer alternatives to consider.
Enjoy the hunt!
