Sorry, i'm so new to this.
Is $680 a good price for Kawai CN270? It's an older piano with 32 polyphony, but in excellent like-new conditions. I tried it last night and it felt really nice (for a beginner me:)
Please, let me know what you think
So glad I found this forum!!!!

This should be a good piano, but a 2002
digital model is almost ancient by industry
standards. Digital pianos are essentially
computers and they are priced much like
computers, for example, what would a
computer from 2002 be worth today?

The specs seem modest by today's standards:
32 note polyphony, 1800 note song recorder,
2 pedals, etc. For example, the Casio
PX-700 has 32 note polyphony, a 10,000 note
song recorder, 3 pedals, etc., and it
sells new today for $700 online and $600
in some Costcos. Thus, this used model
is selling for what a piano with better
specs sells for new. This could be
a good buy but the seller will need to
come down on the price. A good general
rule when shopping for any used piano
is to offer half of the asking price.
Any used piano is going to be hard to
sell simply because the number of piano
players in the general population is small.
No one lines up to buy used pianos, and
every day the seller keeps it it loses
value. A pawn shop will give him almost
nothing for it. So you should offer maybe
$350 cash: have the cash in hand and
flash it in front of him. If it is in
perfect condition (test all 88 keys with
and without the right pedal) and you really
like it, you might come up a little on
the price, maybe $450 tops, but no more
than that for something as old as this,
because for about $500 you can already
buy a brand new digital with similar
performance.
