I just had a brief play after putting the kids to bed, open earphones chosen as the big enclosed cans hurt after a short while , plus I need to hear whats around me. Anyway although Im a bit rusty I could run through Ode to Joy with both hands, which is the piece I chose years ago on my old keyboard. But as I have no books yet I only got so far.
I also managed a little of the Raindrop Prelude by Chopin, very basic left hand fingering but it felt so good!
Oh I couldnt resist pressing buttons- Whiter Shade of Pale by Procul Harem on rock organ sounds great, even if I soon ran out of steam!
Interestingly when switching from the default Portable Grand to the grand piano on the second voice bank (Panel Voices as opposed to GM voices) I couldnt believe how quiet it was. I had to crank up the volume just to hear it, unless I turned Touch response off.

But it was a fun little session.
Now I want more...

On and off since I was 11. But I never learned properly, I was always too easily distracted and find it hard to discipline myself. My Dad could play but wouldnt teach me or let me even touch his stuff.
I would have loved a teacher but could never afford it.

Well I'm self taught at many things, mainly photography as there was no-one to give me guidance. Same with keyboard. But I wish I'd had a piano or that my dad had allowed me to play his. All the keyboards I've had came with lots of tones and other option and I'm easily distracted. My first keyboard was a reed organ. One sound, thats all. And the best instrument to learn on is one with just one voice.
