Hi Chris,

Uploading photos to the forum can be tricky at first...

Maybe this will help:

The photo has to be hosted on the web and have a URL address. If so, open the photo and right click and select "properties". Copy the URL address starting with "http" and ending with "jpg". Open the forum full reply screen/window. At the top of the full reply screen, the 4th icon from the left is the one for posting still photos. When you click on it, a drop-down window will appear and select "Insert a non-floating image". Another window will appear with a box for entering the URL address of the photo (remove the "http" that is already in the box or make sure it is not posted twice when you paste the photo URL). Paste the URL of the photo and click OK.

You can preview the reply screen to see if your photo posted.

If you want to use the PW photo hosting site, follow the directions on the PW photo hosting page and you will get an email from PW with the URL of the photo page link. If you get a message saying it did not work, disregard it... it most likely did work (if you got an email from PW, it worked). Repeat the process for multiple photos.

There are other fancier ways to post a photo, but this is the only way I know.

I hope this helps! smile

I've always (successfully) used this link :

PW Uploads

... and follow the directions.

N.B. : I always get an error message, but I always ignore it and within very short order (less than a minute) the link to my file appears in an email message in my email inbox. I copy that link from the email, post it using the "Enter an image" (fourth icon from the left in post/reply field) and, "VoilĂ !" there it is!

Regards,

I am sorry to say this about the excellent piano forums: the photo upload is a nightmare. Any reasonable size is declined so you need to edit your photo first. There's plenty of plugins that do that so I don't see why one of these cannot be installed.

Anyway, your easiest way is tinypic. www.tinypic.com upload a photo and you get the bbcode to put in your post. downside: the pics don't stay there forever but long enough to stay relevant.

A more sustainable solution is flickr.

Thank You Rickster that was easy to do.
I would take that other post down, very confusing!
Thanks everyone.
