Hi there,
I'm new here. I wonder if anyone can help me pick my next piece. I'm about finished with Debussy's "Girl with the Flaxen Hair", and I also enjoy Grieg's Notturno op 54 no 4. Can anyone recommend pieces along that vein that I might enjoy? (Not too hard or long!) Thank you.

I really enjoyed learning "Canon" from Grieg's Lyric Pieces. I too just finished up Debussy's La Fille aux cheveux de lin. You can hear me play it in the ABF quarterly recital now happening. I'm working on Debussy's Arabesque I right now. You might enjoy that too.

There are more Lyric Pieces in the same vein - Erotik, Op.43/5 and Arietta, Op.12/1 for example.

You might also try a few pieces from Schumann's Kinderszenen - No.1 (Of Foreign Lands & People) and No.7 (Träumerai) and No.13 (The Poet speaks).

Definitely check out and ask the folks in Pianist Corner or the Piano Teachers Forum as well. They are much more knowledgeable for music at this level. smile

Oh yes, I love Arietta too. Thanks everyone, I'll be you-tubing these soon!
