Here's a double fugue I composed for piano. In three minutes everything from inversion, retrograde, retrograde inversion, theme augmentation to invertible counterpoint and stretto all occur within the piece. The ambition of the counterpoint is matched only by its stormy expression. I hope you enjoy it, thank you for listening!

Cool piece! You start with both themes straight off rather than exposing them separately, in that regard my initial thinking was to pick it apart, but you won me over. You rewrote the rules I had in my head successfully. Congratulations, that's not easy! My only criticism is that such an ambitious piece should be longer, though it didn't feel short when I was listening to it. Maybe you should consider exposing the themes separately??

Actually, it is an option in a double fugue to expose both subjects simultaneously (i.e., Mozart's Requiem Kyrie).

I was fine with the length of it, personally. Great job!
