Message From The National President

Frank J. De Santis

Greetings! Welcome to the Order Sons of Italy in America, the oldest, largest, and most diverse association of Italian-American men and women in the United States.

We are a group of 500,000 family members who include corporate executives, members of Congress, local government officials, self-employed business persons, police officers, fire fighters, skilled craftsmen, musicians, writers, actors, school teachers, college students, stay-at-home parents, retired men and women, and people of nearly every other walk of life. What unites us is our common Italian heritage. We are recent immigrants, and we are the progeny of those who came to this country from Italy 50, 100, and 150 years ago. We share an interest in preserving our heritage, in promoting the contributions of those who share this heritage, and in ensuring that future generations of Italian Americans know their immigrant history, have the opportunity to learn the Italian language, and have access to higher education.

Increasingly, we are working to make study-abroad programs to Italy widely accessible and to encourage the appreciation and understanding of the many cultures that are alive today in the United States of America.

Please explore the information we have provided here. We have also provided links to other sites of interest to those who love things Italian and Italian American. I also encourage you to contact our National Office in Washington, D.C., or one of our 750 local chapters, if we have one in your area, for further information about scholarship programs, membership, and ways to contribute to the numerous charities, educational institutions, and cultural programs we support. We also have 21 state chapters to assist you in exploring your Italian-American heritage.

Sincerely,

Frank J. De Santis, CAE
