I offer private piano lessons to
ages 4 and up... beginners, intermediate through advanced students, from my home and/or will travel within a 10 mile radius to offer lessons in the privacy of your home.
Text: Etudes exercises and/or compositions determined by the individual student's proficiency and progress.
My Course objectives are as follows:
1. To promote and establish basic and fundamental tools of keyboard musicianship.
2. To introduce and help develop an understanding of certain composers and styles of music.
3. To develop knowledge of all keys, scales with chord progressions to allow easy transpositions.
4. To provide a more relaxed and fun approach to learning music.
5. To develop the student's maximum musicianship and to help him/her to value music as a means of self expression.
I have over 25 years of experience and training in Music and I strive to provide my students with the same unique qualities to appreciate and enjoy making music for years to come.
Lessons can be scheduled during the weekdays and/or weekends; I will work with parents/guardians to accommodate their busy schedules. Please contact me to schedule a free introductory session, and to get started on a dynamic musical journey.

The Bay Area Academy of Music is a privately owned school located in Pleasanton California. Our school was founded in 2003 and began as a small studio offering only piano instruction. Over the years we have grown and now offer lessons for a variety of different instruments and programs. Students of all ages and abilities can benefit from our programs.
We believe that everyone, without exception, is naturally musical! We focus on the fun and sheer pleasure of playing music, and offer programs for children, adults, beginners and more experienced students in: Piano, Violin, Voice, Guitar, Trumpet, Clarinet, Saxophone, and more!
We realize that most of our students will not become professional musicians. Our mission is to provide people of all ages and abilities the skills they need to maintain music as a life-long companion. We strive to provide a fun but educational environment with well organized administration and first rate equipment and facilities.
We constantly renovate and improve our facilities and provide ongoing training to our staff to ensure we are always providing our students and parents with the best experience possible.
We hire only highly educated, experienced and licensed professional instructors. Each one has been thoroughly screened and has been very carefully chosen for their skills and abilities. We operate on a 10 month fall session, from September through June, and offer a 2 month summer session to further advance your skills.
I believe that everyone can learn to play. Not everyone will be proficient at it. Many will struggle, but with desire and practice, everyone can reach the level that they wish to reach. It is all up to you. I believe in knowing the WHY, of musicianship, so theory and reading, scale work and classical experience is stressed. I also believe that a student does best if they are motivated and enjoy what they are doing, so I do work with each student as an individual to meet their own goals. We learn to write our own music as well as how to play the music of others.
About me: I have been teaching for over 20 years and have Juilliard and Broadway performers as prior students. I also have students who simply choose to play only for their own pleasure. I have students from age 6 -> Adult. We explore many different methods and focuses.
